Google query strings are long and contain other data, all I want is the
search keywords. Any ideas?

Loadsa ways of doing this rather than to resorting to lcoating them using
regular expressions (although if your bored it's pretty easy), lots of tools
available.

You probably have server logs, if so use something like Analog to parse the
log file automatically and give you your search terms: http://www.analog.cx/
Example at: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sret1/stats/
There are other tools which make the stats more appealing if you wish.

My own system of doing this uses a combination of log files I write when a
page loads (and emails to me periodically) in a format that Analog can parse
out. This gives me all the data I need.

If you want something straight forward you can plug into the site you may
want to have a look at something like AXS from Fluid Dynamics. It's a
freebie and pretty useful. http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs/
