Your problem seems to be more one of diagnosis, what is your ranking
for relevant keywords? There are several sites that will give this ranking,

it's part way down the page.
Analysing your server logs can be very revealing, you get referrers
(where your visitors come from), the keywords they used to find you,
their path through your site, and so on.
Visiting crawlers, and how often, can be useful information.
To get a high ranking on Google can take several years, there
are many things you need to comply with and optimise.
Unique interesting content, good inbound links from high ranking
sites, W3C compliance is a good idea, all these come to mind.
Google works with (visible to it) text, don't go overboard with images
and special effects. Try to avoid hosting in free web space.
Visitors can vary seasonally, by hour of day, and day of week.
