Still confused, are those brown lines the "MS borders" or not?
No they are just lines cause by the css telling all table borders to
have color.
Ok (that is how I would do it)
Ok, I wouldn't call it borders though.
That is what they are called Shared Borders. Hey I didn't make the
name.
Don't blame you ;-) It just confused me.
Don't blame you for being confused. There is a lot about the FP program that
confused me at first. I thought FP just loaded fluff all the time and it
doesn't. If used properly and making sure you have all the css done right,
it can do good. It is the user screwing up.:-) It takes time to learn all
the stuff. Don't know where my book is. Never read it, I just play around
with it and learn that way. Never had the inkling to learn more until last
year with it.
<snip>
All I know is this way is super fast,
and actually I don't have to save the changes when I put something in
the border unless I go offline and back on. When online and you change
a file it is done, sometimes with just 2 clicks of a mouse. 1 click to
open the file folder another to click on the file to insert and boom
you are done.:-)
Sounds nice. Never had a look at FP, maybe because when I started with
HTML MS hadn't discovered the Internet yet [1].
[1] Which is untrue, MS used the Internet and Usenet (IIRC) for quite
some time, but didn't expect it to grow that fast.
Well if they can make it run without the meta thingy written wrong then
fine. They might have. Haven't updated in a while and don't care to upgrade
it is expensive. I don't like to update things as it resets settings etc.
I know you can have programs to check your broken links etc, but this also
does that on all pages. When I make any changes to a page and hit save it
uploads say if I added an image it will upload that and automatically upload
the new HTML. Which can be a time saver, but you say you have that thing
that uploads all new stuff. I can also change a name of a file which I do a
lot to stop image thieves and it will change the file name on all the pages
that list the file. It can help you create forms and drop down menus etc.
Now mind you when I first purchased FP I didn't know anything about HTML.
Shoot I was making a website and didn't know the first page had to be made
index to have the root domain / show. I started out with Adobe, and went to
FP yes because of WYSIWYG. But learned what I see is not what everyone else
may see.
After learning some HTML yes I have a book and read it. Can write it but I
am sorry to much work and hurts my eyes. I like to still use something I can
see as I build. I can set colors and hues better when I am viewing it.
Microsoft sells FP by stating anyone can use it, but I tell you that isn't
so. A good knowledge of computer jargon helps and knowing some HTML. Because
sometimes you want to add things in it like Google ads, you have to know
where to place them on the HTML to make it look OK. I also, straighten up
the HTML and make sure things are all move over to the left sometimes and
cutting out space in between. Depends though if there is a lot on a page I
keep space in between so I can really see the beginning and the end.
Now mind you I knew I could do css before and was to lazy to make a new
design on my site. Although small, 150 pages is a lot to add the one line
css and the rest. I also get rid of the sold stuff etc. So, call me lazy but
I just didn't want to. It worked as is.:-) But now, since I made up some
graphics I want to go and change it.
