True or not, there wasn't an opening for it - at least not in my POV
when I read Roy and Jez's posts, but as they say at times, YMMV.

I don't play the tit for tat game, Dave.
I selected a post of yours, and one that you shared in this thread,
You may not agree with my selection of whose post I selected to
respond to and-or part of my thoughts.
You respond to ask me to post a similar to every Tom, Dick, Harry, and
Bill. The reason why I responded to YOUR post, over Bill's or others,
is because you mentioned something they didn't - missing interesting
discussions with other people on here - and yet, even while sharing
that thought you couldn't resist getting a dig at someone at the same
time.
I responded to your posting with my opinion (to what you had written)
and you have now responded back: what kind of discussion is this
exchange? I suppose it could classify as a discussion - how
interesting of one may vary from person to person though as some
people get their Usenet jollies hoping to see two or more people 'duke
it out' through posts.

Those are questions only you can answer as you know yourself, and your
reactions, better than I do.
It just seemed if someone knows you have them killfiled yet it still
peeves you that they are making negative comments about you ... then
you post something negative about them in response ... I don't know,
seems to go in a circle then with both sides fueling that circle to
keep on going.
If you have them killfiled then I don't see why you would really care
what they are saying about you - 'cause you have already, in my
opinion merely by putting them on killfile, placed a value on what
they say about you: not worth reading so not worth a second thought
therefore not worth a response even if someone else shares with you
what so&so said or responds to one of their posts and has a comment or
two still quoted.
Not that I am saying you should bite your tongue - gawd knows I share
my opinions on here from time to time and some of those were not
welcomed with open arms. Happens. Here, there, and in other forums or
groups online. Heck, even offline you can't please everyone - right?
But I don't think folks would enjoy it if I got out my toolkit to try
to hammer my opinions into thier heads. There are times when the
hammer is best left in the toolbox instead of next to the keyboard. ;)
You and I didn't always fully agree on some things in the past. We
even had a debate or two for the lark of it - each of us playing a
Devil's advocate about a certain angle. But if you had said something
that ticked me off, I may let you know ... or I may not. Let's say I
will let you know, I think it would be left to that thread and then
backburnered as I moved on to another thread in this group. I don't
think you would expect me to let it spill over to another thread or
another. Likewise, I would hope that you would do the same - leave the
disagreements in the threads where those are shared and leave them in
those threads so we, and others, can chat/discuss/debate in other
threads on this group. .

If you want to feed the fire - then you can feed it, but as long as a
fire is fed, then the longer it takes to go out - regardless of any of
the participant's perceived intelligence levels. But while those
flames are being fanned then that may not be encouraging the kind of
discussions you would prefer to be involved in on at the same time.
That's all I am saying - and if you don't agree with my opinion, then
you don't agree - I won't take it personally.
Now sit back and enjoy a cup of caffiene with me ... very few people
in this NG will be able to say that they don't have someone who would
like to ruffle their feathers or try to get under their skin. Shoot,
some have had people come in from other groups to try to play 'get
their goat' games here.

But the ill-feelings did exist prior to 4 weeks ago, so I was not
wholly incorrect either. Just seems to have escalated over time and
the past 4 weeks hasn't helped ceasing the escalation.
But again, that is my opinion and you are entitled to disagree with
part or all of it. Deal?
As I said, in my follow-up, I probably shouldn't have posted it to
begin with. Guy's post was more on the mark than mine in trying to
share the same thoughts. Secondly, I really had no business posting
personal opinions yesterday as I am still recuperating from some minor
surgery but the pain killers have me more apt to 'spit out" hwat i am
thinking versus holding back some things I normally would not have
said out loud but simply thought. Ask my husband ... he had to endure
me making observational comments about even some commercials on TV the
past few days. LOL!
On the other hand, I will be glad when things settle out over this way
and I don't have to keep such a stringent eye on the clock ticking off
my online time allowance. *sigh*
