I remember BASIC, but I liked it. At work I only saw the front end of
GUI apps, and an occasional DOS command. So during lunch hour I went
to the big store to try out small BASIC scripts. For fun. I was about
17 or 18 at the time. When it didn't work, I changed bits at home in
the evening, and next day lunch hour I'd type it all into a Commodore
again, see if my changes had effect.

Your kids are probably about 10 years older than mine, I still manage
to get away with having only one SuperNes with only one working
controlpad, and one very old laptop for them to play with :-)

Only 4 years older than me - you just grew up (had kids) more
efficiently than I ;-)
