Why not? It is a perfectly understandable and true statement that
"Adobe photoshop is an industry standard program" the truth maker
being that photo manipulation programs are almost universally
compared to Photoshop and rightly so.

Perhaps, but it's a dangerous path to tread, allowing one software house to
define what is 'industry standard'. Look what Microsoft attempted to the web
for instance.
