If you are right just because most people use a particular
browser and most designers just cater to that one, and most
people have 17" screens at 1024 x 870 or whatever, fine. You are
right.

But what is the big point of being right about this. Grubby
politicians stay in power this way, they provide for the
majority. But the best of them not only look out for others too
but they look to raise standards and make for a better world.

Perhaps this concept is harder to understand for a Republican <g>
