I agree, I would not touch one of these autos with a 3.048metre pole ;)
I bought a VBM Levetta a couple of months back, best thing I have ever done, real easy to use compared to the thermoblock sunbeams and breville machines I used before this, now just have to go for a decent grinder upgrade, a mazzer or M4D, need to go look at few to decide.
and as for the auto machines, I still haven't come across one that can make coffee as good as the manual machines, but I guess they are ok in a busy workplace.
