To assume the bidding may have gone higher is fallacious; there is no
evidence available to suggest that would have occurred.
Evidence to a hypothetical ? That's just so cute i have to post a
reply. ;-)
You seem to imply a reasonable hypothesis may be formed of ether.
This ought to be good.
Here is one..
Me and Jack 'the sniper' enter a sale.
I really want that rare bumper sticker because it matches my eyebrows
and i'm willing to go as high as 100 for it. Poker face on.. i bid 40
with a few minutes to go, sit back grab a beer, place the cursor over
the bid box and wait to see who else wants to play..
Jack sits back, grabs a beer, polishes his scope and waits..
2 seconds before end of bidding he fires in 43 and steals MY stuff.
Now had we've been bidding properly against each other.. Do remember i
was keen and good for at least a 100 bucks.
What was he willing to bid ? 101 ? If so, he just saved himself 58
bucks and i hope he chokes on the beer. (nothing personal Jack, it's
just business, you know<bg>)
Seems like a logically very possible scenario to me, but to save the
group from being exposed to rude words, don't ask me for evidence..
Gee, all your "proof by example" requires is the exclusion of everyone
else on the planet.
