While in college I lived around the corner from a coffee roaster and brewed coffee with a Chemex or a vacuum pot. When I moved the fresh roasted coffee was no longer available, the vac pot broke and I couldn't find filters for the Chemex. I ended up with a Mr. Coffee right about the same time that the quality of the supermarket coffee was going from bad to worse. I gave up drinking coffee for a period of years without any ill effect. My ex-wife had headaches and a lousy day if she didn't get her caffeine fix first thing in the morning. I know a lot of people like that.

That's a tale so sad it's worthy of a Blues....

HAAA!!! Very Good! But, you know, the blues always has a sense of joy and a glimmer of hope in the gloom (not like rock and roll which can be so damn depressing). So now, a decade and a half later, the headachey ex-wife is gone, I have my own little coffee roastery on the patio, a collection of vintage coffee apparatus on the shelves and a near commercial sized espresso machine oozing chrome and stainless over the kitchen counter.
