Sorry I misunderstood what you were doing. The mike position should not
change the reading rate so it sounds like some kind of false reading. I
don't know what is causing that in this particular watch - perhaps it is
quieter than most. Given that the watch is keeping excellent time I'd
ignore the machine results and go by the results on the wrist.

It has a display back, so no cover. I would be concerned if it did not
