For sports, I would recommend a Casio G-shock. Why take the chance of
trashing a good watch that costs one or two thousand dollars? The spend
several thousand dollars on a good everyday watch with a leather strap.

I never wear any of my good watches while doing sports. That is what Casio
G-shock watches were created for.

Hi

I am looking for a watch as a gift for my wife but the specifications are
a bit exacting and I'm having trouble tracking down anything which fits
the bill - suggestions would be very welcome.

It needs to be:

a) small (<28mm dia);
b) easy to read dial (pref with luminous hands and marks);
c) a sports watch she can genuinely use in sport (ie skiing,
windsurfing, hiking, running);
d) a rubber or fabric strap;
e) no more that £1000 (say around$2000
f) available in the UK

I'd like it to be:

g) a chronometer;
e) automatic (rather than quartz).

The nearest thing I've seen is the Victorinox Swiss Army Crusader but
that is a) 30mm and b) quartz. Any recommendations anyone.

Thanks

Paul

I realise that, when I ask for free advice, I'm going to get the advice
people want to give, not the advice I want. But if someone else is thinking
about giving valuably of their time, could they answer the question I asked
and not the one they think I should have asked.

Thank you.

Paul
