As far as function and durability, I think you have
to give the nod to quartz.
Well it is obvious that when quartz watches are designed that the entire
process is given over to the electronic and mechanical engineers and not
watchmakers.
The way it should have been done was for the electronics guys to build
the chip, armature, and servomotor and then hand it to the watch
designers to use to make a watch.
The alternative works, but is attrocious otherwise.
