Hi

My Seamaster (quartz movement, bought new '95, pre-Bond model) has lost
time two times in the past month, about 15-30 mins each time. It
happened after my son (7 month old) got to play with the watch while I
was giving him a bath.
The watch has been OK for a couple of weeks now. Battery is probably
fine, since it was replaced only about 5 months ago. I've never had any
problems with the watch losing/gaining time before.

Any ideas?

Yes. Don't blame the poor kid for everything ! :)
It could be coincidental, or maybe he managed to use the crown under
water and some water got inside the case. 7 months old.. i don't know
if at that age my daughter could have gummed the crown out, but who
knows. :)

At the last battery replacement, the dealer told me about something he
called a complete service overhaul, priced at about EUR 300. It seemed
to be a standard Omega service offer. Does anybody know what this
includes? New quartz movement?

Has it been more than 6-7 years between services ? If so, you should
get it serviced.
It can be a complete overhaul, meaning the movement comes apart, all
parts inspected and exchanged as needed, put through a cleaning
machine, reassembled, lubricated and timed with a fresh battery
fitted. Sadly, the new battery will be a Renata, but oh well.. they
don't leak anymore, they promise... ;)
It can also be just a new movement if they are very busy, or find
something not quite right or worth fixing on your current one.
The case and band also gets a workover. Polished and cleaned, with at
least a new back seal and probably a new crown fitted. Pressure test.

At least the Aussie arm of Swatch Group service centers really do a
thorough job, but of course, not cheaply.
