Mechanical Watchs and Religion

In my opinion, the battle between religion and atheism is like the
battle between mechanical watch versus quartz watch. The mechanical
watch owners think there is more to a watch than the material that make
it up. There is a soul, a heart, or a character to the watch. The
quartz camp are the atheists, denying the existence of a watch soul.
Good analogy or simplistic?
