So you're saying that if a watch company makes a tourbillon that it's a real
watch company? What is the reasoning behind a tourbillon? It was to make
pocket watches more accurate. In wrist watches it's basically useless
because the arm/wrist does what the tourbillon does. It's a gimmick to raise
prices to stratospheric heights. So what's the purpose of a tourbillon? To
make watches more accurate.

True. Actually all tourbillon wrist watches should go through the
C.O.S.C. tests to be acquire full justification. But, on the other it
is a purely mechanical gimmick, displaying a perfect mastery of the art
of watchmaking, and very pleasing to the eye, as your really see the
movement's heart work. Emotions, emotions...

That's something that the Seiko Spring Drive has
done. So, because the Seiko SD is not a tourbillon it's not a "real" watch?

It is a complicated way to reach a result, where the most important
part is electronically base instead of mechanically. I am very
surprised that you cannot see the difference.

Because it doesn't contain 600 tiny parts it should be dismissed?
Yet it contains still much too many parts

Dude,
you're nuts. I think you should take a look at the magazine Watch Times.

I know Mocca and Jack: both are very sensible well educated gentlemen,
whose state and health of mind cannot be questioned, unlike some other
people who start calling people names as soon as soon as not in
agreement. Arrogance is the result of a lack of knowledge.

They know a thing or two about watches and they made the Seiko Spring Drive
the watch of the year. If they thought the watch to be just a quartz watch
they wouldn't have given it that distinction.

Any magazine can make any kind of declaration and give any kind of
award. Dr. Goebbels invented the trick and it has been further
developed by the KGB: it is called "disinformation".

Enjoy Christmas!
