Did you know that the "Braunes Haus", a Palace built in 1828, located

by Hitler and his band on May 26 for 805'864 Reichsmark fnanced by
nobody else than George W's grand-father, the honourable Prescott
Sheldon Bush and his German friend Fritz Thyssen.

Prescott was a high society wannabe that his mentor George Herbert
Walker left in charge of that business, along with Averell Harriman and
others. Basically, the idea was to exploit the financially chaotic post
WWI Germany. Walker and others saw the trouble coming and bailed,
leaving the boys in charge. Harriman was the real deal, a high society
scion, but Prescott was only a flunky. If Prescott had had to make it
on his own, he'd have wound up being an employee somewhere, and would
have remained a faceless and nameless business failure. But he married
Walker's daughter and got into her family business...

Prescott was probably responsible for the ethos his son George Herbert
Walker Bush developed: the "mission oriented good soldier", following
orders without question, a nice biddable boy just like his dad. Both
men, father and son, were rewarded for their efforts, but both (have)
remained essentially outsiders in spite of their efforts.

Politics and public opinion comes and goes, but business is forever,
like it or not. And there will always be dutiful gofers like Bush and
son to serve as front men, flack-catchers, if you will.

Ummm... sonny boy George is said to have worn a "preppy" watch strap
most of his life. Dunno what brand of watch he wore, and he probably
didn't either.
