What a luxury, having the advantage not to be able to spend but enjoy

luxury of the world in the endless pursuit of happiness, which anyhow
money can't buy at all:
I'm not of the opinion that money and happiness are mutually exclusive.
Neither am I, as most of my rich friends live very happily, with a nice
family & good friends.
Having adequate income and savings helps to reduce the stress caused by
bill, unexpected expenses and worry about housing, food or retirement.
That can translate into less stress with your spouse and more time to
enjoy the kids. Likewise, the family with adequate resources at hand
has the luxury of preventative medical exams and care, where the poor
typically do without or wait until the last minute to seek care. Having
adequate resources lets you drive an auto with the latest safety devices
such as stability control and airbags instead of an old junker with
neither. The comfortable people in life can get in their auto in the
morning with the reasonable expectation that they will reach their place
of employment at the desired time and not late due to a breakdown or
flat tire.
We always can find exceptions to any "rule," but generally speaking, I
feel that money cannot always buy happiness, but it sure beats being poor.

In the periodic table, as in politics,
the unstable elements tend to hang out on
the far left, with some to the right as well.
Also here we are in full agreement. I just meant that on top of that
one does not necessarily need a USD 100'000 watch to tell time.
