Strange - Omega Speedy Pro

I have a one year old Speedy pro "sapphire sandwich". It was at my EXPERT
watchmaker for some repairs (I took a spill and chewed up the tachy bezel,
then the top pusher stopped working).
So today I pick it up. If the stopwatch is allowed to run for over one
minute, the second push of the top pusher to stop the center seconds hand
RESETS ALL THE CHRONO HANDS, CENTER SECONDS AND ELAPSED MINUTES!!!
This happens at the watchmakers, and his first reaction is: "That's
impossible". Well, it does it again, at which point he states: " That's
impossible and I saw it!!!"
Anway, he takes the back off, futzes around for a while, still does it and
he can't find anything at all wrong. Finally, he just adds some lube oil to
the right places, and VOILA, it is fixed!
This was really a new one on me, and on my watchmaker of 30 years experinece
(and he is a wizard with an Omega, in fact is an authorized parts dealer,
so it's not HIM!)
Anyone ever seen this one before?
