Recommend a manual watch

I'd like some recommendations for manual watches please. I'm on a
budget of about £400ukp, which limits me rather.

I'm keen on reliability. I'd prefer something that I have to wind
rather than an automatic, but that might just be my ignorance.

I like plain dials. My current watch is a plain military style Pulsar.

I'm a bit out of my depth, and don't know which watches have good
movements in a nice case and which watches have nasty movements in a
nice case.

Thanks.
