Hi all,
I found this in my deceased father's things.

Obviously its a bit battered, but does anyone know the history/model
name of the watch ?
I know he bought it in the mid 60's in Hong Kong but that's about it.
Still seems to work fine, not to sure what all the buttons do, and I'm
not that keen to experiment in case I bust it and my dad decides to
haunt me!
It's a mid sixties GP chrono, probably with a Valjoux 22 movement. Now
that GP is popular again it's a halfway valuable watch.
The top button starts the chrono running. The big second hand will start moving
and count second. There is another dial that counts minutes up to 45 minutes. Most
of them were 30 minutes counters so this is a little less common than most.
The dial is a little scruffy but it's original which is a LOT better than a repainted
dial.
Nice haul. Worth about $500 +/- or so.
You probably need to get is cleaned and oiled given the age. The cheapest and
best place is a guy in Toronto I use - Shane Ede - 416 531-4201. You can
google him for references. He'll charge you about $100. Everybody else will
charge you about $300+
I want one. Very nice watch. One man's "battered" is another man's "patina."
