I'm in the UK, and my local 'watchmaker' is merely an expensive shop that sends everything back to the manufacturers.
As a result of an embarrassing disaster (see other thread), I'm thinking of sending my Singapore Sandoz to www.chealwatch.com, who seem to offer a versatile service at reasonable prices.
Does anyone in the UK know anything about them?

Perhaps an ackward question on part of a Swiss, is a Singapore Sandoz (HKG / China) watch really worth having repaired instead of buying a new one?
I know that I may sound harsh and lacking respect, but I have some personal reasons to have very bad feelings about the moral principles and the business ethics of the principals of that company.
Please do not take my advice wongly and do not feel aggreviated by my (well meant) remarks.
No, sounds like a reasonable question, and I'm not offended at all, although I don't understand your question.
The Singapore Sandoz has a Swiss ETA 2836 -2 movement. Screw down crown, screw back, solid president bracelet (not pressed steel clasp). It cost $USD 269 from pmwf. It is a lot of watch for the money, and I could not buy anything like that quality in this country for that money.
I don't know why it would not be worth repairing, any more than any other 2836-2 in a solid, chunky, waterproof case would not be worth repairing. Morality? It says Sandoz on it. Not Rolex, not a fake.
Maybe I've misunderstood you -- Tony Stanford .
