Thanks for your input - most useful.

I have bought Ebony before in small section (for making pens) and that
supplier lists 1" Sq - 5" (£0.63, $1.12, ?0.92) - 6" (£0.73, $1.30,
?1.06) - 8" (£0.96, $1.71, ?1.40) & 1 1/4"Sq x 7" (£1.32, $2.35, ?1.92)
as well as 'Pen Blanks' which are nominally 19mm Sq x 125-150mm (£0.51,
$0.91, ?0.74) long but he currently only has stock of 1x1x5 and Pen
Blanks.

When I looked last week he had no stock at all - so I'll wait till next
week before ordering and he might have the 1 1/4".

He also has Shellac but at about a 50% higher cost than the materials
house I've now found.
