Many of those Sorna watches were as huge and colorful as an overweight
flower child from Haight-Ashbury. The movements were pretty basic 17
jewel affairs, but reliable if cared for. The Sorna name is
apparently being reused and and look-a-like models are being issued, so
ask the seller plenty of questions about authenticity. Over the past 4
years I've seen many many many Sorna watches for sale that were
described as NOS. So many so that I'm a bit suspicious about their
origin and wonder if many of them are little more than modern day
marriages of NOS and new parts. It is possible a warehouse of 35 year
old NOS Sorna watches was discovered in Switzerland, but I will have to
be convinced.

The Sorna name is apparently being used again to "reissue" watches at
least according to this thread on RTL website:
