analog cell phones were turned off by the providers awhile ago. thus
old analog phones will power up but not make any call not even 911.
the cell systems cant see them anymore
It's probably going on 3 years old. Would that most likely be analog
or digital? I know it has a lcd panel and I can change pictures and
the ring on it. Not that any of that matters but it kept me
entertained for a few hours when I first got it.
That figures.
It
s probably not even charged right now..... I know, its not going to be
any use at all like that, in an emergency.....
Yeah, there goes that theory.
As you said in your other message, I know the internet can be a big
waste of time too, but I like usenet because I can exchange ideas, ask
questions, an help others. Email is a good way to keep in touch with
friends too, but I think most of the web these days is garbage. The
few useful sites are those from educational places and wilkipedia, and
those sort of sites. Other than those, it's just a big pile of
advertising, and I am so sick of sites that want me to register. Like
I got all damn day to keep signing into sites and trying to remember
2968 passwords.
Hell, the other day I was reading a news article and they had a series
of stars to click on to rate the article. I liked the article so I
wanted to give it a good rating. I click on the top star and they
tell me I got to register. Yeah right....... Like I'm gonna waste a
half hour of my time registering to give them one second worth of the
praise I thought they deserved, and then for the rest of my life get
their spam. NOT!!!!
I'm only registered for the yahoo groups, and refuse to register for
any other sites. Not even with a disposible email, because it's just
too much hassle registering and I know I'll forget the password
anyhow. And now all these sites need these letters added from
graphics that half the time I cant even read.
You poor baby. I'm reading any newsgroup I want, and the only
password involved is between my ISP and me. I set it once and never
looked at it again.
Even the news websites are no longer useful, like CBS, CNN, etc.
I'm on dialup and those sites are so bloated with flash videos they
take a half hour to load.
Being on dialup fits in nicely with your other positions on modern
technology.
Hell, I will just get my news from the tv
then.
Not after June, unless you adopt some new technology. Wow, perish
the thought!
Videos have their place when I want to watch a news article,
but why the hell do they use them as part or all of their homepage?
Not long ago I want to Budweiser.com, because I like Clydesdales.
Figures, do you eschew the modern automobile too?
I
normally have flash disabled. Their entire site is flash, ALL OF IT.
It took me over 2 hours to finally get to the Clydesdale page.
Everything the had could have been a simple HTML page because none of
what they showed in Flash was anything special, jsut some stuff that
moved..... no big deal at all ..... More annoying !!!
I guess they could just draw the pics of the horses in little x's so
you could read it in text. Gee, wonder why they don't?
And then there's blogs......
They are a complete waste of time, web space, and everything else.
I have never been to any blog that I felt was worth anything at all.
Most are just political bashing or immature stupidity, with only sites
like myspace being worse.
If I was to rate the web overall, I'd say that at least 90% of it is
total garbage, while Google and other search engines make sure we all
go to all those junk sites rather than promoting the few good ones.
I'd rate your opinions as 90% garbage.
I even removed Internet Explorer completely, because those damn flash
sites caused IE to crash all the time, which often made my whole
computer crash. I use Firefox now, but use Flash Block to block all
of it.
Probably because you're still running Win98.
