Had a few outages here recently and it made me a bit nostalgic about
the old days of electric clocks. You know, you'd come home and you
could tell how long the power had been out by how far wrong the clock
was. Now it's either battery backup or flashing 12:00. Seems like
they could add the feature to a digital clock easily enough, but I'm
probably the only guy who cares.

I would rather have flashing 12: then have the clock off by 15 or 20
minutes or 11 hours off and not notice it.

Doesn't anybody own a watch any more? Unaffected by power outages. You
need to get a good analog watch like I have. Has never stopped or lost
time. It's a WM-672. Wear it daily and it gets beat - spray painting,
hammering, roofing, crawling under the house, arm in drywall bucket of
water, attic heat, 20 below winters, dirt, you name it. Yep, this $6.72
WalMart watch just won't quit.

My clocks with battery backup only seem to last 2 or 3 hours with
power off, but maybe the batts are just old.

If you really want to know you could pick up a power line data logger
for ~$2500 or use your spare gas money.
