Brass and steel cannot be welded togther. However, they can be brazed, silvered
soldered, or plain (lead) soldered. Brazing is a very strong joint, nearly the
equal of welding in some cases. Silver solder can be nearly as strong, and
usually produces a much neater joint than brazing due to the wicking action of
the silver solder. It is also a lower temperature process than brazing.
