Re: AC Just wont cool - no one can figure out

Go to udarrell's web site. he posted a link. You will find a lot of
information there, some of which will be useful. There are a lot of
trols and other jerks that come here as phonies pretending to ask for
advice. After a while we get tired of these people and blow up at one
that we assume is just like them. At the same time, anyone who just
measures pressures IS NOT a competent tech. These people are common it
AC work, and while they seem to be nice, somehow never seem to get the
training they need to learn to do the job right. That training is
available and often is free or nearly free. All the need to do is show
the interest and spend the time to get it. Here in my area, most of
the suppliers have free service schools for their brand of equipment.
They usually hold them in the evening in the off season so everyone can
attend. They normally serve didder as well. I go to as many as
possible, even when it is not for "my brand". I always see the same
people every time, a core of about 30 people interested enough to show
up. There are about 80 companies listed under ac in the phone book
with an average of 4 techs in this county. There are lots of smaller
companies with 1 or 2 techs that don't advertise in the yellow pages.
I would say there are 400 AC techs in my area, and only about 30
regularly go to these free schools. I have no doubt that it is the
same everywhere else too. That is why you got the response you did.
If your tech was such a great guy, he should be getting more training
so he can do a better job, instead of doing free calls.

End of rant.
