It doesn't just say that so-and-so scratched his arse, it goes on to say
which buttock.
I know that humans can make mistakes, but does anyone have any horror
stories regarding DHL? From my limited experience (this delivery and
several shipments of laser discs from California in the mid-90's), I'd be
surprised if you did.

I think they're in trouble here in the US.

I thought they had already folded up shop in the US.

Now that you mention it, I can't remember the last time I saw a DHL
truck around here (Massachusetts).

I used to do a lot of shipping with the company I worked for and I
remember when they took out all the DHL drop off boxes that were next to
the UPS and FedEx boxes. I remember watching the news saying they were
closing the major DHL hub somewhere in the mid west. I think essentially
they pulled out of the US with some offices still open in major cities.
I checked and we have one office in South Austin. They probably have to
have some footprint in the US.
Every order I place with Stew-Mac is shipped through DHL, so they're
definitely still operating in the US at some level. I was curious
enough to Google it after hearing remarks about them 'closing shop' over
there, and it sounds like they had major problems and shut 4/5 of the
American arm down, and stopped dealing in domestic shipments completely
to focus on international stuff.

It seems bizarre given how massive the company (DHL) is everywhere else
in the world, but I guess UPS and FedEx offer so much more competition
in the 'States, whereas they have a much smaller (almost non-existant in
UPS's case) presence over here in Australia and other countries...

It appears FedEx and UPS beat them to the punch bowl here. They both suck.
