Hendrix was with the Isleys in '64.

I'm sure I've seen pictures of Jimi with a Strat before the Experience
days, but I'm not sure that's a Strat in that picture - it looks like
it's only got two pickups. Maybe another Fender, like a Mustang?

It's a Duosonic. There are also pictures of JH with a Jazzmaster in the pre-Chas Chandler days.
