I probably come off as a real skeptic about it all, which I probably
am. But I think if it works for someone, it works.
Personally, I'm down to 8 guitars, prolly soon to be 9 whenever I find
a 339 I like. I treat each on its' own, each one has it's own
intonation problems or not, so when I pick them up I know what to do
with this one. Always been that way for me, so it doesn't bother me
at all.
Hardest part for a lot of players to get is that when we develop
absolute pitch in our lives, sure, we get bugged by some beats between
strings, but we just have to play around them, and pick the guitar
that intonates best open for Stairway, and best fat barres up the neck
for those excursions into Made In Japan, another great live record
from back then. If recording, it is no problem, you should be able to
overcome any problems long before you start wasting tape.
The average mullet lifting the average Bud watching the average NASCAR
match whilst yer band soothes them with some more Skynyrd don't know
jackson about intonation, only when to holler A SOUTHERN MAN DON'T
NEED HIM AROUND ANYHOW. That's all they need to know!
