All interesting stuff. I think Clutch has a different slant. They
sound familiar, but add their own twist. A couple of their tunes
reminded me of Captain Beyond. Mainly the riffs. I had seen and
heard The Bad Plus before and just didn't realize it. I like their
sound. I'm interested in everything new and different musically. I
guess what always hits me with Beefheart and The Magic Band is their
freewheeling, stream of consciousness lyrics and willingness to change
course at the drop of a hat. It doesn't make for commercially viable
material, but at least it's not boring.
