I'm with you on Fenders. Strat and Tele C shaped necks work for me.
Nice looking guitar. Just needs a maple neck. (-:
Nah if it had a maple neck then it would become a squier guitar and then
I would start to write incessantly long posts on everything and that
would be bad.
One is enough. I like maple necks but that was the only one they have. I
just love the sienna sunburst ash body strats. Played it again today and
it was effortless. Miss the gibson humbucker sound but play the fenders
much better.
If your cats can find enough change in the couch, they could get the
Fender Custom Shop to build you a Double Fat Strat :)
I concur with the "C" neck design. My Strat, Tele and Peavey Falcon all
have them, and they're very comfortable. Thinner necks feel like a twig to
me now!
Call me old school but putting humbuckers in a strat just seems wrong. I
went to my dealer and they said they could order me a Les Paul with a neck i
like for only $4000. I'll pay off the strat first however.
I tried some ibanez's today like other suggested and I just didn't like them
at all. They had a bunch of Jackson shredder guitars but I never tried them
as you could impale someone with the headstocks of them and also I would
never wear spandex which is required with those guitars.

Lee - I am also mostly a Fender guy - but That LP tone is just
something nice on occasion. I always felt like a std LP was just a Fat
brick of a guitar I couldn't just get. However in searching I did
find why I felt that was and the ~fix~.. What they call a 60's profile
might be the ticket (50's are just to FAT). This in my Les Paul Studio
Deluxe w 60's neck,, also has push pull single coil or humbecker. My
band mate has a "Real" Std. & Sound wise its a 50/50 there both a
little different both sound great. I put 9-46 Blue Steels on it, and a
earvanna nut ( i think especially with light gauge strings this is a
huge improvent in overall intonation. It's my go to for full open
chord perfection, or the LP Crunch ) - & it plays like butter. While
shopping I also grabbed a FMT HH tele thats an absolute dream but
thats another story....( GAS rule of thumb - ya need both ,,,, at a
min! hahaha ) . ed s
