Those damn cats of mine have done it again. They went out and got me a
fantastic American Standard Strat in Sienna Sunburst.
Sadly I had a major wrist lockup playing the Gibsons and sadly had to
return
them but the fender strat neck is very different. I played it for over a
hour and a half and my wrist was fine but I had to quit after that as my
finger tips where just raw so I quit for the night but I will be fine to
play again tomorrow.
Sadly playing the Gibson's after 40 minutes my wrist would just be in
severe
pain.
For whatever reason I don't get that with Fender necks. I wonder if it is
the neck angle on the Gibson's that kill me.
Here is the new guitar.

A handsome guitar indeed.
On the subject of necks, have you ever tried the skinny Ibanez necks
or the Fender V neck, as found on spme Am. deluxe? I like them both
better than either typical Gibson of Fender C-shaped necks.
I have never had the ibanez's but I did try PRS's and they did not work out
for me. I had the baja tele which has a v neck and found that one I was
really slow to play on.
So far the c necks on fender american series over the years have been the
best necks I have ever played at least for my playing.

The ibanez suggestion may be a good one. You get a full bucker sound
when you want, and the necks are super comfy. I added one to the
fleet, You can go high end really cheaply with these. Example, I was
after a white JEM. Played an RG350DX, basically a JEM without the
monkey grip or vine inlay, added Duncans and voila, a killer axe. for
600ish!
