wondering whether you could mod a Fender-style trem to do the same
thing. My mate TK used to occasionally end a song by doing that just
by pressing in his Floyd Rose bridge.
Tony D
plate - it's set to the bridge side so you get a dive with a palm press
instead of having to pull up on the end of the bridge like you have to
do with a Floyd Rose trem. Different sound - raising vise lowering.
But now that you mention it is would be really simple mod to make a
fixed, short, looped type trem arm that would essentially place it under
your palm...but you'd give up some if not all ability to palm damp.
Maybe...I'm gonna think on this...

What the guy has really invented is a trem with out any guitar
modification. To me that’s the strong point , why not put a trem arm
on it or better yet use with or without one .
Already been done.
The Statsbar models fit on a lot of different solids and their "stop-bar" unit will fit a 335-type semi.
The Les Trem also fits any stop-tail guitar.
I have a whammy tail piece that I originally planned to put on my '79 Explorer when I bought it but never did. It simply replaces the stop bar, uses the OEM studs - hinged and sprung, with a lever, like a Bigsby without the roller...
You could get them in chrome or gold - I got a gold one...someplace...still in the shrink wrap. Crap...I know I still have it, dunno where it might be.
I know the model (it was the shrink wrap description that did it): the Bowen Handle.
I bought one in about 1983 (gold), for £25. Fitted it to me LP Custom. Thought it looked hideous, took it off again and wrapped it back in its packaging. Eventually gave it away to a luthier friend in Italy, circa 2004.
Yeah - sounds like the one...I still have mine. Someplace...maybe it's in the case with my Explorer. I tend to forget I even own that guitar...I'll have to take a look just for the sake of a laugh. I never even took the thing out of the shrink.
....crap - you can still get 'em - and they've added black ones:
