Rik Ocasek. Some of his solo intros, i.e. Moving In Stereo just sounded nasty,
but blended in OK when the rest of the band came in.

Some of Lennon's late - era - Beatles tones....bridge pickup, tone knob all the
way down, i.e. the Get Back leads. Or his super-fuzz solos in The End. I don't
mean to be blaphemous here, but these sounds coming from the man who gave us I
Feel Fine? C'mon...

I blame these settings on Yoko.
