I have the chance to get a good acoustic amp, an Acoustic Image Coda, at a fair price. I'm wondering it this would be a good way to go for amplifying a digital multiFX (Digitech RP-150) for electric guitar in addition to acoustic.
I think it's a good idea, though I've never tried it myself. I have been thinking about borrowing the Genz Benz Shenandoah acoustic amp that I bought for my daughter-in-law for that very reason!!
The closest I've come is running my Digitech Brian May pedal through my SVT bass amp; the idea's similar, the amp has a wider frequency response though not as flat as an acoustic amp SHOULD be.
I have run the Brian May pedal directly into my recording preamp and into the computer, and I get a better sound out of it that way than through any amp I have. So generally, I think the flatter the frequency response is of whatever's amplifying the guitar + digital mult-FX, the better off you are.
