Good long interview with PRS in the latest issue, BUT I was dying to
see the "what's with the hideous heel" after 95 question come up in at
least some mild suggestive form.....alas no mention. I'll never own a
post 95 ( except perhaps a single cut ) as I cannot justify big money
on a neck that feels like crap ( to me ). I'de simply like to know the
logic as would many others. They are still some of the most pleasing
instuments to look at.....from the front :-)

Well...believe it or not, many people don't have heel issues. I've had 2
post '95 and loved ethem both. I really miss my old hard tail custom. I
think the heel is for stability. A trade off when he went into serious mass
production. I'm sure PRS would say he prefers heel-less but if he did, that
would be foolish from a marketing standpoint "My old guitars are better".
heh

Personally I'd wouldn't buy his Am stuff. He's flooding the market with the
less expensive Koreans so the resale on Am PRS has really dropped. Except
for the heel-less and most of the real custom stuff. I wish he would of gone
with a differnt name on the SEs, for instance.

Good marketing points for sure! Interestingly enough, I also talked to
their "custom" shop. They would NOT do a neck with the old specs which
I found odd. The word is custom after all and I would expect to pay a
bit more of course. Bottom line, if I want one badly enough, I guess
I'll find a pre 95 or have a luthier "fix" a new one :-)
