I finally got to play one at the local today. Its freaking buttah. The
action was about bang on, nice and low with no fret out. Comfortable and
fast action.
I'm stunned how good this thing was. I played a CV 50's and it was
nowhere near as good, still a good guitar tho.
I'm gassing so hard now, its not funny. Oh, and the pups actually sound
very good. Neck pup is a absolute cracker. I had thought that if I buy
it, I'd keep it stock. But the control plate is a little thin.....
10/10 for Squier. I'd imagine in another 20 years these will be sought
after like SQ's, JV's and Pro tones....
GAS, GAS, GAS, GAS, GAS........
Mark
thanks for the comments on this guitar.
I think you're right in that 20 years from now
those will be sought after guitars.
It takes a while for how real players feel about a guitar
to catch up to the regular "what's on the headstock' pedestrian buyers.
When it finally gets around how good they are then the price goes
up... the pedestrian buyers paying the price since real players
already have them and are playing them.
Same with the E series 80's MIJ Squiers. I have no idea what
they were worth or anything - to me my E series Squier tele guitar was
just a great
player with one of the best necks ever. And it probably took 20 years for
it to filter down to pedestrian buyers just how good they are.
Until then they wouldn't have been seen with a "Squier" logo on their
guitar.
heh.
Go Squiers! heh. they are once again currently making
some great guitars now too. Not everything - but the current vintage
modified
Squiers are good stuff! (and others too...)
Ah... I have to get the Squier tele re-fretted! I keep putting it off
but this summer I'll save up the money and get it done properly.
Watch out pedestrian here! Where are the high priced Squires? :-)
I was looking on eBay and didn't see anything. I may not be looking in the
right place.
Forgive me as I have nothing to do. (broken foot) :-(
