Someone asked if I was a "serious buyer". In this particular case, no.
The amp in question was a Marshall Lead 100 MOSFET. I liked the demos
I saw on YouTube. I just wanted to hear a real one - plug something
similar to my SG into it and hear for myself. If I could find one
locally, I'd do that.

Do I want to pay $250 - $300 without trying it first? Hell no.
