Ah, so. That's a complicated timeline.
I've heard the Monterey Pop performance, and it's not very good. They
sound very unrehearsed.
I've probably told the story before, but my first rock concert was
Buffalo Springfield at the local high school. It warped me for life.
Recently a recording of that very show surfaced, after all these
years! The sound quality is pretty rough, but I think the
performance is great! Here 'tis:

Buffalo Springfield played your high school? Was this before or after
they were very well known and had at least one monster hit, "For What
Its Worth"?... wasnt that them?
Hey, back in the late '60s, there were some incredible (and well known
bands) that played very small venues in my neck of the woods. Cream, Byrds,
Rascals, Turtles come to mind. Our band even got to open for a couple of
them!
Springfield had quite a few hits aside from "For What It's Worth".
"Bluebird" and "Mr. Soul" come to mind...I thought (and still do) that
"Bluebird" was outstanding.
