I forgot how great Joni is.

Joni is absolutely one of the best composers of this past century. How
often do you see one person with such a great sense for melodic
composition along with a brilliant lyrical talent. An amazing ability
to reach people at gut level, and enough musical depth to work solo or
with some of the best jazz players.

I once tried to sort out a 'Best of Joni' collection, but some of her
CDs are almost greatest hits collections in themselves. How often can
you say that...Beatles, Hendrix...not too many come to mind. It was
impossible to trim down to 30 songs or so.

I also got to see some of Joni's paintings in person. Absolutely
beautiful. Like her music, there's something intangible there.
