Had a customer bring me some vintage pedals to repair.

EH Muff Tone PI OpAmp version 1977
Musonic phaser pedal (like a wah pedal but changes the phase rate)
Mu-Tron phaser pedal
Sekova distortion
Maestro phaser.

Except for the Sekova pedal which is a crap all the others
amazed me with the sound that only these analog discrete
component effects can produce. Fitting they be tested on
a BF Fender Deluxe in for repair.

I have heard (older bandmate's) maestro boomerang (it's a wah pedal)
and he also has maestro fuzz (it's a big metal box with huge wheels
on the side for controls) -- and both are excellent. good stuff
and sounds a lot better than most modern pedals. He said the
combination of a wah and fuzz were popular back then and it still
sounds good today when used right. Just the wah itself sounds cool.
Kinda retro sounding - not a real modern wah sound - but it really
sounds unique. Can get super funky or milder. kick on the maestro
fuzz and you have old skool lead sounds. anyways. cool stuff.
the fuzz itself is very smooth and goes into almost fuzz crunch
and it's not raspy or spitty.
