I'm pretty much done with my next album. The company I'm beholden to
(Funzalo Records) isn't exactly beating down my door for me to get it
done. But I've had a recent spurt of inspiration, and wound up
finishing it about 6 weeks ahead of time. Still needs some remixing
and mastering. Lots more acoustic stuff due to the fact that I'm now a
bona-fide "single artist". By which I mean, even if I could find good
musicians to work with, I don't have a very democratic attitude
towards working with a band. It'd have to be my way, or no way, and
that seems to be an insurmountable hurdle for most (can't imagine
why?). Besides that it's just easier to do singles gigs... most of the
material converts pretty well, and what doesn't, just doesn't get
played. I'm playin' half cover songs anyway, so who much gives a shit?

As usual there are some collaborations I did with Keith. And a few
cover songs (hopefully fairly obscure).

So have a listen... gimme some feedback, and send me on my way...http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=87802

Play pretty now,

Lewis

PS... I'm going to be changing around my personal web site also, but I
will leave the entire Keith tribute thing alone.

Excellent, Lewis...every one.

Only one question:  What's going on with the drum track on Carry Your
Own Water?  Is that supposed to be a crash or an open hihat that cuts
out abruptly?  Is that on purpose?

Thanks d... the cymbal sound is a crash that's supposed to sound like
the drummer grabbed it immediately after hitting it. At least that's
what I intended it to sound like.

You know...I thought you might've been going for a choke with that
one, but unlike the rest of the tunes where the drums sound good, this
one just sounds synthetic.  More so because of how high the quality is
on every other aspect of these songs.

Gotta tell ya, too...I'm really glad how you've come to trust your
voice & not bury it in FX like you used to.  Clearly, you didn't need
to!

I guess the drums do sound a bit synthetic on this one... it's just
that I played it pretty well, and I'm not sure I can duplicate the
effort. So, the only recourse I guess is to process the sound so it
sounds more "organic". Think that'll help d?

And tx for the vox comment... it took me a while to trust my voice.
