What is the real difference between American standard pick ups and MiMI had a MIM Strat that serviced me well for a number of years until I acquired my Jeff Beck with the noiseless pups. Sold the MIM a couple of years after and put the money down on a Gibson semi-hollow. My only complaints re: the MIM were that the bridge pickup was not wired to the lower tone control and could have used some way of attenuating the treble and the square-cut fingerboard.
or MiJ's?
I just bought a 2005 MiM bone stock Strat. My buddy has a 2008 Am Std.
I can't hear any particular difference in the two guitars. Mine plays
and sounds just as good as his and everyone who has played both
agrees.
When I bought the guitar I thought, oh I'll upgrade the pups and it'll
be good to go. But now I don't see any reason to spend money on an
upgrade if I like the way the guitar sounds.
Input?
