More like, half the tone at twice the price.

More like, twice the tone and three times the life...

I've tried Nanowebs on all my guitars. I run them exclusively on my
Taylor acoustic. They're some of the brightest, most lively and
long lived strings on the planet in my opinion.

On my electrics (Strats and Epi LP's) what can I say... Nanowebs
sound fine, but I've been a GHS Boomer guy for over 2 decades. ;)

Huh, go figure...I never tried them on my acoustics, but on my
electrics, I don't get that pick-on-string scraping sound as I do
with uncoated wound strings. My playing tends to be pretty
percussive, so that's why I find them on the lifeless side. Plus, I
rarely break strings for whatever reason, so the extra cost for the
extended life is a waste. I too stick with Boomers.

The extra life we're talking about isn't time till breakage, it's
time until dead sounding.

Don

For me, the intonation usually goes out on old strings before they start
sounding dead. That's typically when I get the first clue that it's
time to change 'em, when I can't get intonation right regardless of
saddle position.
