There was a thread a few days ago about seeing him play live.
Anyone
here go?

I wonder, does he use his signature ESP Guitar? . . . signature
Randall amp (with signature preamp module)? . . .
signature Zoom G2 pedal? . . . signature Morley Dragon Wah? . . .
and
(of course) his signature Spectraflex "Mr. Scary" cable? (I'm not
making any of this up.)

It's amazing how someone who was a just blip on the public's radar
25
years ago can still reel in the endorsement deals. Don't get me
wrong,
I like the guy's playing, and he deserves to make whatever money he
can. But in terms of recognition from the general public, he's no
Eddie Van Halen or Slash. Mention him to anyone who wasn't into
hard
rock or metal in the 80's and they'll say "who?".

And yet, people will pay $130 for a guitar cable with his name on
it.
Amazing.

I think you're diminishing his accomplishments greatly - you can't
play
both sides of the fence... There are guitar players, and then there
is
the general public.

Pretty much every guitar player I know fully respects him and his
work... I didn't like him because he had pop hits or great videos for
'Breaking the Chains' (I'm being sarcastic)... I like him for his
great
chops.... 25 years later - much like I still like EVH and Hendrix or
whoever, he's still a great player...

I don't care what some Hanna MonScamma fan thinks...

I STILL have the 1.14 Tortex Dunlop pick he flung at me in 1984!!!
I've
been using them ever since! :)

Him and Warren DeMartini I could listen to for HOURS!!

His Randall sound I could do without :)

Nothing wrong with DiMartini...the guy can play. Too bad he'll
forever be associated with that hair metal vortex.

Back then... I was ALL over that! :P)
