Re: Bookings and How to get 'em

Only one regret....this was pre video. Unfortunately I don't even have
any pictures, we took some, but I lost track of them a long time ago.
I do have one promo poster with me on it. We had a few cassettes, most
literally disintegrated years ago. My old bass player said he still
has one cassette...I suspect it will break if I try to copy it...but
one of these days I will get my hands on it and try. I wish I could
have something for my kids other than my "memories". So the moral is,
Squier, you have all this at your disposal while you are
young...record and take as many pix as pssible now!

Maybe I am missing something here.

I am working a website for a band with a long history in N.E.,
I'm talking decades. The ONLY music from those days was recorded
by ME on cassette. Some on cheap tape, most on good. Said data
lasted for said decades, traveled with me all over the country, from
N.D. to MS, and back to MA. every time. Stuff survived. I converted
it to files stored on DVDs, from said old tapes. No problems at all.

...then again, maybe I was just lucky. Said tapes went on and off
airplanes, in and out of cars, and shipped UPS many times. Still got
them, and can listen to them anytime. Still alive as I write this.

But you have a point, record everything, take pix every chance you can,
and in today's hi-tech world, you can do video at a drop of a hat.

Back then..no way. Today, no excuses.

I wish I could convert my brain memories to video, but alas, no.

ALL the 'ICON' rock stars I sold equipment to, fixed amps for, met
and party'ed with, I took few pix of. Ment nothing to me then.

Means alot to my publisher now. Glad I have almost enough.

AHHHH, the oldfartdays(.com)
