At least the Mesa C90 eases off the mids and is much smoother which

I really don't think they go well with the Mark III.
I dunno...I liked the V30's but not with the Ceriatone. Wayy too much
high-end. It's funny, the Ceria just needs very midrangey speakers.
The Eminence Man O War speakers are kinda similar to Lead 80'sI'd love to try it with my midrangey 4x12" with them '76 celes and
but very balanced mids and really tight top end and bottom end.
I really think half the thing is what speakers you are using to tame
the Mark III tendency to get fuzzy and waspy with lots of preamp gain.
small-magnet Ampegs!
The worst was using a cab with Greenbacks with the Mark III.There are several types of greenies around. Mine work best for that
BUT - here's the thing -- it sounded excellent on the Clean (R1) channel
using volume (preamp) on 3 or 4 and the Master turned up to around 4 or 5..
The Greenbacks did their thing and the Mark III just pushed clean
power with a little preamp sustain and slight grind.
cranked clean/driven sound, but honestly the Ampegs sound better for
drives and thats what I mike.
