Spear guitars

Anybody have any experience with these?
I was thinking about getting a tomcat in transparent blue but can only find one U.S. dealer.
The U.K. dealers don't seem to have any of the trans blue ones besides the high cost of shipping make them pretty pricey.
I'd pay it if they had one and I knew if the darn thing was going to be worth the price.
Any input would be appreciated.
